Dip into Mata Ganga

The first time I walked to the Ganga
in the early mornig this is how I found it.

Going down the steps to the ghats
I felt attracted by the river
and participated at the puya ceremony
where one's whole family is blessed and you
immerge three times in the water.

new working space

Thanks to the city of Burgdorf and the SKK Foundation

I enjoy very much having such a generous working space!
I feel I can do things that have been waiting for a long time.

This is the refreshing view out of the working space into the little garden with lemon, guava, coconut and some other tropical trees.

Varanasi!

A little impression of the Monsun that welcomed me the day I got to Varanasi, recorded by Pao Paixao,  a filmmaker who is here in residence too.

Looking out of the riding train in the morning,
I have the chance to see the Ganga for the first time.

Night train to Varanasi.
As I arrived at the New Delhi Railway Station the long expected Monsoon finally sarted to fall!

Emma from Sweden and volunteer at the Don Bosco Ashalayam asked me for a portrait while we were returning from the trip to Amritsar. Painting in the train is starting to feel familiar to me.

This is the first person I saw working with Pigments on the street, colouring textiles in Patiyala, on the way to Amritsar.

For me this photo taken by Priya, one of the volunteers in the Don Bosco Ashalayam,
shows the perfect train ride feeling along the rice fields.

On a trip with Father Mathew to Amritsar I had the chance to paint a little sketch in the train.
Because of the people's reactions and comments it felt like a little event.

I have been very warmly welcomed in the Don Bosco Ashalayam in New Delhi.
Here you see me keeping my fingers trained.
(There would have been around 160 Boys and Girls to paint!)

Indian Yellow

For my welcome surprise in India the indian yellow powder
had been spread all over the backpack through the transport.

Soon leaving

While spending the last days in the beautiful Atelier in Lausanne I am finishing some works that have been maturing for a long time. One of them is the charcoal interpretation of the wedding photo "Juan" wished to offer his beloved wife.

With these fischermann's portraits I'm slowly getting prepared to paint in India.
